General note:

This plan of the northern sections (22, 23, 24) of Brandon, while showing the proposed water works, also shows the principal buildings blocked in. Many are named. The date of pre 1890 has been assigned as the Northern Pacific and Manitoba Railway which was opened from Morris to Brandon in June 1890 is not shown. (Bladen, p. 84) . It is interesting to note that in "Dickson's map of the City of Brandon... 1894" much of the same information shown on this map is also displayed including the water works system (see: H1/540/Brandon/1894).
