This map shows the principal land and sea cable lines of the world. There is an index to the companies operating submarine cables. The new British Pacific Cable is shown with a heavy line. This cable was the last link in the "all-red route", a globe circling telegraph line which touched only British possessions. The map was published soon after the first message was sent over the Pacific Cable on October 31, 1902 and was printed in a London, England newspaper entitled: Commercial Intelligence dated November 6, 1902.
