"This map by Peter Schenk encompasses the area from the St. John River in the east to Lake Huron in the west, and from Hudson's Bay to Carolina. The map was first published by Visscher sometime between 1690 and 1710 with no mention of Schenk on it. It was published along with another sheet containing the area to the east. Schenk took over Visscher's plates between 1702 and 1726, republishing many of them. It was not until after 1715 that Schenk's name appeared, however. It is possible that this map was contained in an atlas published by Schenk in 1719."
