This interesting map was photocopied from an original in the possession of the British Museum. Unfortunately little or no information exists as to the map's author and date. Fort William Augustus, 1760, on the St. Lawrence river is shown. The map is very similar to one published by Thomas Jeffery in 1762. Jeffery's map lacks the cartouche but has added refinements in content. Thus is would appear as though this map was used as a base for Jeffery's map of 1762. For a copy of the 1762 map see G.F. Müller's: Voyages from Asia to America. The map is covered with legend concerning exploration, geography and Indian tribes.
