a) Plan of Monterey on California by Don osef Tobar y Tamariz. 7th December 1786. 3 3/4" x 7 3/4"; 1 inch to 1 nautic mile. b) Plan of the Road del Principe in the Channel of Sn. Barbara by Don Josef Tobar y Tamariz 1786; 3 3/4" x 1 3/4", 1 inch to 2 1/2" nautic miles.
This map is treated as a 1789 edition of the 1782 map with insets dating from 1786.

First inset froma Spanish MS. Received from Dr. Robertson; Dalrymple corrects orientation. Soundings in second inset are in fathoms; on the main map they are shown in feet.
