Les grands traits physiques et les comtés sont indiqués. D'après le réseau ferroviaire, on peut dater la carte 1869. Règle générale le tracé des chemins de fer est très linéaire et ne rend pas compte de plusieurs sinuosités. Dans les comtés de Kent et Essex, un Tronçon du Canada Southern Railway, en construction, est jamelé avec une ligne du Great Western. En fait le trajet du C.S.R. est plus au sud. La même chose pour le Great Western Sarnia-London qui sur la carte suit exactement le 43 degree parallele. Il y a une distorsion dans les coordonées géographiques qui fait les méridiens sont légèrement déphasés vers l'est.
