This tramway line was probably designed to link various parts of the E.B. Eddy complex in Hull, along the north shore of the Ottawa River. The line was not intended to carry passengers since street railways did not appear in Hull until the 1890's. (Brault, pp. 121-2). The 1878 Goad plan of Ottawa gives a clear description of the route of this line, so this plan must predate 1878. The 1864 plan of Hull does not show the line. The supplied date is derived from the above dates. There are numerous insets and illustrations describing the proposed bridges on the line.
