Notes from former database: "The port and environs of Quebec as it was when attacked by the English [in 1690]; 8.5 x 12.1; 1 inch to 700 toises (approx.). A draught of part of the River St. Laurence; 7.0 x 11.0."

Notes from former database: "This map is a detailed plan of Quebec showing buildings and fortifications most of which are named either in the index or on the map. There is a lengthy note outlining the history of the city on the left. The English attack referred to in the inset is the 1690 assault by Sir William Phipps. The map appears to be taken from a map by J. N. Bellin published in the 1750's. The two maps have the same areal frame, orientation, and detail. The Bellin map in turn is nearly identical to a 1720 plan by Chaussegros de Léry (See Note 1). Thus, although this map is dated 1759, the information on it dates to 1720. Many works undertaken before 1759 are not shown, particularly the Bastions of St. Jean, Ste Ursule, and Coteau de la Potasse."
Notes from former database: "The growth of the suburb of St. Roch prior to 1759 is also not indicated.The map was first published in January 1759 without the inset in the top right. It was then republished in October of the same year. The N.M.C. holds several copies of the map. One is the copy described, another is found in: The American Atlas, 1759 etc. no. 6, (See Note 2), one is an uncoloured original and the one is a coloured reproduction done in 1969 (in facsimile collection)."
