They are very poor. The mother breaks down and cries and the girl leaves the flat. She enters a café, presumably to beg, but is ignored. Out on the street, she begins to sing. In a wealthy home, another young girl is being prepared for a walk by her mother and a maid. She hears the poor girl singing under the window and throws a coin to her. The mother approves of her charitable deed and replaces the money. The girl and the maid leave. Overjoyed, the poor girl runs home with the money. The rich girl and maid follow her. She runs into the flat and gives the money to her mother. Outside, the rich girl writes a note asking the poor girl to return to the courtyard of her home, promising that her mother will help her. She slips it under the door. That night, the rich girl dreams of the poor girl and her mother happy and well-fed as a result of her charity.Language:SilentNotes:Genre:DRAMADetailed holdings information: -
