The film opens with the inter-title; "Onions are grown to a large extent in many sections of the province. Near Leamington the output is nearly 300 cars annually." The film explains the various stages involved in harvesting onions; from laying down lime; creating a fine seed bed; using a plank leveller and a roller to smooth down the surface; planting the seed, using a modified wheel hoe; using wheel hoe's to weed the plants; pulling the onions by hand; and packing them into boxes. Inter-title: "A 40-acre field on John A. Campell's farm." Shots of large machinery being used to remove the onion tops, to boxes of the onions being stacked, and readied for shipping.
