Map shows Prince Edward Island as it was divided into counties, parishes and lots. A list of lots and proprietors names is also given along with depth soundings and other data. The map was originally drawn in 1775 by A. Dury. The original map had a slightly different title ("A plan of the Island of...) lacked the list of proprietors. The LAC holds six copies of the map containing the list of proprietors, five of which are identical. Four are single sheet copies and one is contained in Sayer & Bennett's (Cook and Lane) North American Pilot, No. 10, 1777. The final copy varies only in the addition of "published 12th May 1794 by Laurie and Whittle, 53 Fleet Street London" below the title block. The LAC also holds two single sheet copies of Dury's original map. All of these maps, in one form or another, appeared in a multitude of atlases between 1776 and 1806.
