Shows the ripples and rapids and gives the lengths of the latter, also gives the widths of small streams entering the Seine River. This map was undoubtedly made by Gaudet in January 1859, after he left Savanne Depot. From there he planned to proceed down the Seine River (See his letter on page 31 of Dawson's Report of Exploration, Toronto, 1859). Although Dawson himself made a cursory survey of the Seine River in September 1859, but it is possible that no map was made (See his letter, dated Sept., 23, on page 9 of his report).
