File containing portraits concerning Lou Hooper's military service in the Second World War. Individual portraits of Hooper in England show him: in hospital with eye bandaged, 1940; playing the bugle, Borden, 1940; in performance on the piano, in band dress, Aldershot, 1941. Another portrait shows Hooper with another man in uniform, who is apparently drinking beer, with 7 signatures on the reverse. Several images show big bands (Kit Bags, No. 1 C.A.H.U. [Canadian Artillery Holding Unit], No. 1 C.A.R.U. [Canadian Artillery Reinforcement Unit]) on stage, many with Hooper on piano and one with him in costume and apparently performing his composition If You Swing. Two examples of the same image show men in uniform relaxing at a place variously identified as Overseas Club, Leicester Square, London, and New Zealand Club, London. Other images show: performers on stage, many in costume; members of an audience; performers backstage doing make up; a group portrait of Hooper and other men in uniform; Sunday Church Parade religious service showing Captain Costigan, Hooper, [Padre Bordon?], and others on stage; Hooper and others at a rehearsal, London, 1944.
