Barney Danson served as Minister of State for Urban Affairs from 1974-1976. This series includes the following twelve sub-series: Minister Danson's Trips, Meetings and Associations; Records Relating to other Government Departments; Parliamentary Subject Files; Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC); National Capital Commission (NCC); Administration; General Operations; Cabinet Issues; Minister's Office Coded Files; Communications; Constituency and Working Files. The above sub-series is composed of a variety of records including trips, speeches, records relating to various government departments, parliamentary subject files, correspondence, records relating to the Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the National Capital Commission (NCC). The latter two topics make up most of this series. The other sub-series cover matters related more specifically to the day-to-day issues found in the office of the Minister of State for Urban Affairs.

Apart from the Trips files, Constituency, Working Files and Communications sub-series most of the files that make up MSUA series originated from the MSUA departmental files. This was a filing system that was used in the minister's office throughout his term as MSUA.
