The item consists of a ledger entitled "American Bank Note Company - Order Book No. 1" that records from 1897 to 1902 the details of postage supplied issued by the Canadian Bank Note Company as a subsidiary of the American Bank Note Company. It documents the rate of payment schedule for supplies, deliveries, colours, and quantity of orders for the Canada Post Office, and contains the signatures of various officials including that of Sir William Mulock, Postmaster General at that time.
