Kronstadt Group : The Kronstadt Group was an Ottawa-based anti-communist organization that believed in a free, democratic Russia. The group was named after an uprising that took place in 1921 in Kronstadt, Russia, where Soviet sailors, soldiers and citizens rebelled against the ruling Bolsheviks. The Ottawa group was active during the 1960s and 1970s, and was associated with the Good Samaritan Association, a Canadian charity that collected funds and goods for Russian communities in Western Europe, and also supported a Free Russia. Theodor Goldwin, a key member of the Kronstadt Group, was the editor of the "Good Samaritan" newsletter. Another prominent member of the Kronstadt Group was Vasili Pavlovich Yanovksy.
