Item is a booklet of essays created for the exhibition Portraits : From the Collection of the NFB (National Film Board of Canada). Exhibition was held December 18, 1981 to February 14, 1982 at The Photo Gallery, 150 Kent Street, Ottawa. Essays include an introduction by Penny Cousineau, an essay entitled "Portrait Photography - An historical perspective" by Karen Lisa Oxorn (6 pages), an essay entitled "The Portrait - From Appropriation to Recognition" by Denis Redmond, dated September 1980 (4 pages), an untitled essay by Graham Struthers (5 pages), and an essay entitled "Portrait Photography and Death" by Roberto Bolognesi (2 pages).
