Series consists of Mary E. Angus' letters to her husband D. Forbes Angus, particularly while she was away on vacation (1891-1923), her general correspondence (1903-1952), letters from soldiers and airmen (1940-1944), and the letters she received from the Dutchess of Devonshire (1926-1948). Also included are documents on her charity work, including the Montreal Protestant Orphans Home and the RCAF Wing's Club in Halifax; material on the estate of D. Forbes Angus including the lease of the Drummond St. house as a Wartime Convalescent Home in 1943.

Mary was the Canadian president of the Queen Mary's Needlework Guild during the First World War. This organization made and collected clothing for shipment to Britain and published the Soldiers' Gazette which was sent free to Canadian soldiers in Britain and France until it was pushed aside by a Canadian government newspaper in late 1916. Series includes letters and reports on this controversy.

Series also contains a bound typescript of "An Eleven Days' Motor Trip through Normandy and Brittany" with bound-in illustrationss (1910) and photocopies of some of her short stories for children.

Angus, Mary E : Mary E. Henshaw (1868-1951) of Montreal was the wife of Donald Forbes Angus (1866-1943). She was very involved in Montreal charitable causes such as the Queen Mary's Needlework Guild, the Montreal Protestant Orphans Society as well as numerous campaigns for the Canadian military during two world wars including the RCAF's Wings Club in Halifax.
