Collection search - Policy, procedure, and project records of the Atmospheric Environment Service [textual record]

Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Atmospheric Environment Service of Environment Canada and its predecessors.

The accession includes, but is not limited to, overall policies on various subjects (including interfaces with the Ministry of Transport, climatological stations, CATA observation stations, and Capt St. James, BC), the Pacific Weather Centre, AES graphics, environmental assessment and review process, air pollution (including toxic chemicals, air quality committees, Long Range Transport of Air Pollutants Program, and the Western Canada LRTAP Committee), automatic weather stations (Mars I & II), and satellites. The accession also contains project files relating to EARP, GVRD Oxidant Study, GVRD Air Management Plan, thermal electric generating plants, mines, pulp mills, and ferrochromium plants.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
