The series comprises the texts and drafts of speeches, lectures, and talks, and related documentation. Many of the speeches and talks arose out of his position as Director of Public Relations for the University of Ottawa. But the series also includes lectures for the Department of Political Science, reminiscences of his war correspondent days with Canadian Press, and addresses to service clubs. Some of the subject matter includes the possibility of a third world war, youth and war, Canada's role in "the world of tomorrow", convocation, the history and future prospects of the University of Ottawa, doctors and the press, the Knights of Columbus, aspects of war corresponding, and school newspapers, among others. His political science lecture notes treat the subject of responsible government and the British Commonwealth. There is a photograph from his address to the Club Richelieu at the Chateau Frontenac in 1959, where his talk addressed "L'Art de Chiper", or the art of scrounging, and for which there are French and English drafts of his speech.
