This series consists of the records of the three standing committees maintained by the Secretariat Division of the Corporate Services Branch; and the records of the eight advisory committees created and maintained in SCC's Standards Branch, Conformity Assessment Branch, and Intergovernmental Affairs and Trade Branch. These Committees serve to advise and direct the Governing Council with its decision-making processes.

The Corporate Governance Committee, Appointments Committee, and the Audit Committee report directly to the Governing Council and are responsible for enabling the overall performance and functional operations of the Governing Council, the advisory committees, and the operational branches.

The eight Advisory Committees within the SCC's corporate structure serve as the bridge between the operational branches and the Governing Council and consist of the Advisory Committee on Conformity Assessment (ACCA), the Consumer and Public Interest Committee (CPIC), the Advisory Committee on Standards (ACS), the Canadian National Committee on the International Electrotechnical Commission (CNC/IEC), the Canadian National Committee on the International Organization for Standardization (CNC/ISO), the Standards Development Organizations Advisory Committee (SDOAC), the Advisory Committee on Trade (ACT) and the Provincial-Territorial Advisory Committee (PTAC).
