This item is a bronze medal by Birks (artist: J.-B. Lagacé), struck in commemoration of Louis H. Lafontaine, and given to Hugh Graham (the name "Atholstan" is engraved upon it in a space for names), among others. The event for which it was struck is not entirely clear: possibly the 1925 Interparliamentary Conference in Ottawa; perhaps for the erection of the Lafontaine monument in Montreal in 1931, to which Atholstan contributed; or perhaps the 75th anniversary of the 1842 event commemorated by the medal.
