Photomechanical reproduction of a colour lithograph from J.R. Coke Smyth's "Sketches in the Canadas" (London: 1838). Image was reproduced for a calendar by Rolph-Clark-Stone Ltd. in 1956, from an original in the Sigmund Samuel Canadiana Gallery of the Royal Ontario Museum.

Image depicts a view of Quebec City seen from the Chateau, with the old town on the right and the water in the distance. In the foreground, there is a soldier in red and white military costume standing near a cannon.
