Accession consists of correspondence relating to R.B. Angus and material on his art collection and residences. Correspondence and other material relating to Donald F. Angus, Mary E. Angus and other members of the Angus family. Material related to the Campbell, Cantilie, Evans and Henshaw families.

This accrual of photography from the Fred Angus estate comprises mainly materials relating to his father Donald F. Angus and to his mother Mary W. Angus. The photographs cover a wide time span, from the early 1900s to the 1970s.

Several points are of interest: an album of photographs created by Donald F. Angus during the teens, when he was a cadet at the Royal Military College; an album kept by Alexander Angus during the beginning of the Second World War; and a small group of photographs of some of Donald F. Angus' re-creations of early vehicles. Most of the remaining photographs are portraits of Mary or Donald, or pertain to their properties in Montreal and at Senneville., The accrual consists of 312 black and white prints (including those in the albums); 14 colour prints; 82 black and white nitrate negatives; 4 colour negatives; 53 colour slides; and 18 colour stereo slides in the Verascope size (retained because of their unusual nature)

General note:

A large number of photographs taken by Donald F. Angus were not acquired either because they were exclusively of family interest, were highly repetitive and/or duplicated material already in the fonds, or were technically deficient.

Received from Elspeth Angus of Montreal QC in 2009.

Accruals:

this is an accrual of photographs to that received in 2008 from the same source. The nature of the photographs is very similar and some photographs duplicating those found in the earlier accession were also found in this accrual.
