The fonds in Massachusetts Historical Society consists of logs and journals kept by John Boit as captain, officer or passanger on several voyages. Library and Archives Canada has copied only the log of the UNION, which traveled around the world in 1794-1796. The log entries cover 29 August 1794 to 2 October 1795 and include some maps.
