General note:

This accession consists of records created and/or maintained by Canadian Forces Language School Ottawa between 1984 and 1998. This office was created after the amalgamation of the Canadian Forces Foreign Language School and the French Language Training (military) in 1977. In 1999, l'École de Langue des Forces Canadiennes Saint-Jean, Canadian Forces Language School Ottawa and Canadian Forces Language School Borden merged under the name of Canadian Forces Language School whose headquarters are currently located at Asticou Centre in Gatineau, Quebec.

The records are arranged according to the DND/CF subject file classification system. The accession includes records relating to the following subjects: bilingualism/biculturalism, canforgen messages, conferences and meetings, organization, legal matters, and establishment.
