The Early Years and Studies Series consists of documents related to his early years in Saskatchewan and his studies. This series is divided into six subseries: 1) Primary school and Regina College, 2) University of Saskatchewan, 3) University of Toronto, 4) Harvard University - Masters, 5) Harvard University PhD, and 6) Harvard University PhD thesis and documents various aspects of these years. It contains Johnson's first scribbler and examinations at Regina College, as well as essays, course notes and diplomas from his BA at University of Saskatchewan, his MA at University of Toronto, and his MA and his PhD at Harvard University. It also contains drafts of his PhD thesis, correspondence with J. Stefan Dupre, friend and future well-known professor at University of Toronto and reference material. This series contains photographs from the years in Saskatchewan representing Albert W. Johnson with his family and friends, the family house in Wilcox, Ruth Hardy, his future wife, and some school pictures.
