La série se compose principalement de documents créés pendant la carrière de journaliste de Roméo LeBlanc à la Société Radio-Canada (SRC), de 1959 à 1967. Quelques-uns datent de la période pendant laquelle il y travaillait comme journaliste à la pige alors qu'il enseignait à l'École normale du Nouveau-Brunswick (en 1956 et 1957). La plupart des dossiers rendent compte du travail de Roméo LeBlanc comme réalisateur des programmes français à Ottawa (de juin 1959 à août 1961) et comme correspondant de Radio-Canada à l'étranger, notamment à Londres, Angleterre (de mai 1962 à décembre 1965), et à Washington (de décembre 1965 à juin 1968). Pendant son séjour à Londres, le travail de Roméo LeBlanc a dépassé les frontières européennes. Il a ainsi couvert des événements importants en Europe et également au Moyen-Orient et a joué un rôle actif pour informer le public européen sur la situation politique au Canada. Pendant son séjour à Washington, Roméo LeBlanc a couvert les congrès politiques des partis républicain et démocrate en juin et août 1960 et la visite du président des États-Unis, Lyndon Johnson, en Asie du Sud en 1966. On retrouve également un dossier qui rend compte du travail de Roméo LeBlanc à titre de président de l'Association des correspondants à l'étranger de CBC/Radio-Canada.
Les dossiers de cette série sont constitués des types suivants de documents : des transcriptions radiophoniques et télévisuelles rédigées par Roméo LeBlanc; des documents qu'il a soumis à Radio-Canada (dossiers, comptes, factures); des documents reçus ou obtenus de diverses sources et utilisés dans la production d'émissions de radio et de télévision. Cela comprend, entre autres, des notes de service, des bulletins d'information et des communiqués de presse. La correspondance est constituée de lettres échangées entre Roméo LeBlanc et des représentants de la SRC concernant ses changements d'affectation, ses dispositions de voyage, ses rajustements de salaire, l'embauche de personnel, les paiements d'impôt, etc. On trouve aussi de nombreuses notes manuscrites concernant la préparation d'émissions de radio et de télévision.
