TRAILER PARK BOYS is an edgy, street-level Canadian television comedy/drama series shot in a faux-documentary style. It centres around Ricky, Julian and Bubbles, three adults with boys' minds whose lives were shaped by their experiences growing up in the Sunnyvale Trailer Park: stealing, fighting, smoking, scamming, getting drunk and listening to Van Halen. They had their share of trouble with the law and most of their adult lives have been spent behind bars of one kind or another. It is not that the boys cannot differentiate right from wrong, it is just that right rarely presents itself. In this episode, Randy is concerned because Mr. Lahey keeps talking about liquor. Phil suggests that Randy buy hypnosis tapes for Lahey to help him cure alcoholism. Meanwhile, Ricky still refuses to admit he is the one to blame for burning down Ray's trailer. The boys are not in the greatest shape: Ray is sleeping in his rig and Julian is sleeping in the tent set up over the hash driveway. Bubbles is sleeping in his shed and when he wakes up, he's hungry as a wolf. Ricky offers Bubbles some bread heels and bacon grease for breakfast. Bubbles, however, is still angry with Ricky for letting him take the blame for the trailer fire. Sick and tired of listening to the boys argue, Bubbles decides, at one point, that he cannot take it anymore. Ricky and Julian promise to make it up to him, and tell Bubbles they will do whatever fun activity he wants for the day. Much against Ricky's wishes, Bubbles chooses to go to the mall to buy a badminton set - Bubbles introduced badminton to Ricky when they were in jail in order to help him deal with the jail smoking ban. The boys get to the mall and Bubbles quickly abandons the badminton idea when he sees an awesome, fully functional rocket kit for $99.99. Ricky tries to steal the kit, but when the "mall cops" (who are, according to Ricky, even stupider than the real cops) confront the entire gang, Ricky hands them a fake cheque for the exact amount of the rocket kit price plus taxes. Surprised to see a cheque for the exact amount covering the price of the kit, the gullible mall cops apologize and let the boys go. While Bubbles sets up the rocket and prepares it for the launch in the Trailer Park, Mr. Lahey and his cheesburger-loving constantly shirtless assistant, Randy, show up. Lahey proudly claims to have been sober for weeks, but it turns out that he is completely sloshed. Backing up his car while drunk, he runs over Bubbles' precious rocket and completely destroys it. <23mn 5s>
