This is a video newsletter for employees of CP Rail. This edition features reports on: the April 9 purchase by CP Rail of the American railroad The Soo Line, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary, and the use by CP and the Soo Line of the Rail Runner technology to cut freight transit times from Montreal to Chicago, improving CP's competitiveness; safety seminars for accident prevention coordinators; the start of construction of the new Vaughan terminal north of Toronto; a St. John's Ambulance first aid competition; more on health and safety training; the Canadian Pacific corporate donations program and its $100,000 donation to a new cancer research centre at Calgary Foothills Hospital; a new rail car used by the Vancouver Division to bring safety information to workers in the field, making it easier for crews to attend meetings; and a feature on the use of motion pictures by the Canadian Pacific Railway as a means to promote rail travel and tourism as early as the turn of the century.
