Description:

TIPI TALES uses songs and short vignettes to teach the seven sacred laws of Aboriginal spiritual beliefs that make the spirit strong. Through puppetry the series depicts the lives of cousins Sam, Junior, Russell and Elizabeth as they learn the tools of life from the forest, forest animals and their great-grandparents. The forest animals that the cousins encounter embody the seven ancient aboriginal laws: Eagle embodies love; Buffalo embodies respect; Bear embodies courage; Sabe (Bigfoot) embodies honesty; Beaver embodies wisdom; Wolf embodies humility; and Turtle embodies truth. In PICKING BERRIES, Elizabeth lets Sam think she will help her pick berries, but when it comes time to do the actual work, she changes her mind. Bear gives Sam the courage to finish a big job one berry at a time, and Sabe helps Elizabeth look at honesty. <14mn 20s>
