TIPI TALES uses songs and short vignettes to teach the seven sacred laws of Aboriginal spiritual beliefs that make the spirit strong. Through puppetry the series depicts the lives of cousins Sam, Junior, Russell and Elizabeth as they learn the tools of life from the forest, forest animals and their great-grandparents. The forest animals that the cousins encounter embody the seven ancient aboriginal laws: Eagle embodies love; Buffalo embodies respect; Bear embodies courage; Sabe (Bigfoot) embodies honesty; Beaver embodies wisdom; Wolf embodies humility; and Turtle embodies truth. In MISSING PIE MYSTERY, Elizabeth discovers a pie missing from the kitchen. After looking for clues, she concludes that Russell stole the pie. Even though Sam does not agree with the conclusion, and Russell completely denies the accusation, Elizabeth refuses to change her mind. When great-grandmother points out the missing pie was in the oven all along, Turtle helps Russell realize that the truth always prevails at the end. Sabe teaches Elizabeth that placing blame on someone without knowing the truth can be hurtful. <14mn 20s>
