Description:

TIPI TALES uses songs and short vignettes to teach the seven sacred laws of Aboriginal spiritual beliefs that make the spirit strong. Through puppetry the series depicts the lives of cousins Sam, Junior, Russell and Elizabeth as they learn the tools of life from the forest, forest animals and their great-grandparents. The forest animals that the cousins encounter embody the seven ancient aboriginal laws: Eagle embodies love; Buffalo embodies respect; Bear embodies courage; Sabe (Bigfoot) embodies honesty; Beaver embodies wisdom; Wolf embodies humility; and Turtle embodies truth. In FLY A KITE, Russell refuses to help Junior and Sam build a kite. When the kite is ready to fly, Russell wants to get involved, but Junior and Sam will now not let him participate. Russell gets upset. Beaver teaches him the importance of taking part in both the work and the play. <14mn 20s>
