Description:

TIPI TALES uses songs and short vignettes to teach the seven sacred laws of Aboriginal spiritual beliefs that make the spirit strong. Through puppetry the series depicts the lives of cousins Sam, Junior, Russell and Elizabeth as they learn the tools of life from the forest, forest animals and their great-grandparents. The forest animals that the cousins encounter embody the seven ancient aboriginal laws: Eagle embodies love; Buffalo embodies respect; Bear embodies courage; Sabe (Bigfoot) embodies honesty; Beaver embodies wisdom; Wolf embodies humility; and Turtle embodies truth. In GIRL WHO CRIED WINDIGO, with the help of her great-grandmother and Sabe (Bigfoot), Sam learns that when you make up stories to trick others into helping you, no one will believe you later on when you truly need help. <14mn 20s>
