A page with the title "The Gift of the National Library of Australia to the National Library of Canada on the Occasion of the Canadian Centennial, 1967" and the signature of A. Grenfell Price, Chairman of the Council, and H.L. White, National Librarian, National Library of Australia.

A page "Copies of original material relating to Canadian surveys presented to the National Library of Canada by the National Library of Australia" with the following information:

The individual items are as follows:

1. A sketch of Harbour Grace and Carbonere in Newfoundland, by Jas. Cook 1762.

2. [An untitled chart, unsigned and undated]. The area depicted appears to be the Saint John River, New Brunswick.

3. Description of the sea coast of Novascotia [and of the Island Cape Britain, and of Newfoundland with index]: 13 leaves.
The hand writing appear to be that of James Cook and the document to have been compiled between 1758 and 1762.

4. Description for sailing in and out of Ports, with Soundings, marks for particular Rocks, Shoals, & c. With Latd: Longd: Tides and Variations of the Compass: 2 leaves.
Places metionned and as spelt by the writer include Island St Pauls, North Cape, Cape Gaspey, Cape Rosier and thye Island of Bonaventure. The information was compiled in 1758.
