The Personal files and correspondence subseries contains correspondence received by great personalities, among them Olive [Evangeline Freeman Palmer] Diefenbaker, Jean Chrétien, Joe Clark, his wife Maureen McTeer and their daughter Catherine, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, William G. Davis (Premier of Ontario), Robert L. Stanfield (Premier of Nova Scotia), John N. Turner (Prime Minister of Canada), Jean Charest (Premier of Quebec), Brian Mulroney (Prime Minister of Canada) and his wife Mila Mulroney, Betty Ford, widow of Gerald R. Ford (President of United States, 1974-1977), and Duff Rublin (Premier of Manitoba, 1958-1967). It also contains a file entitled Women's References in which Jean Pigott assembled articles and notes on careerwomen, a file with invitations and programmes received by Jean Pigott, a file concerning the Pigott, Hale, Cook families Writers Award, a photocopy of an old touristic brochure entitled Ottawa-Bytown (n.d.) and an unpublished book entitled Letters from Flander's fields: The letters of Pvt William Moses Kedey to his Parents Herman and Annie Kedey (1915-1916) prepared by Peter Lougheed, son of Mary and Jack Lougheed. His great uncle William Moses Kedey (1888-1916) was a Private in Princess Patricia s Canadian Light Infantry.
The Awards and Honours subseries contains files concerning honours and awards received by Jean Pigott, including Knight of the Golden Pencil, a prestigious prize given by the Food Industry Association of Canada, the Order of Canada medal and many others. It also contains documents related to her 75th and 80th birthday celebrations and a sound recording of a song in honour of Jean Pigott, first woman to become member of the Rideau Club.
The Press Clippings subseries consists of press clippings collected by Jean Pigott concerning her family and her career from 1941 to 2006. It contains press clippings related to Lamothe-Morrison Baker, Jean Pigott's political career and activities as chairman of the National Capital Commission and her involvement in the community.
The Photo Albums subseries contains 2 photo album created by Jean Pigott and related to her personal life and career. The first album entitled "Large photographs" (2 albums) consists of personal and professional photographs. This album contains the older photographs of the fonds concerning Jean Pigott during her twenties. They represent Jean Pigott with her family, as President of Lamothe Morrison Bakery during the sixties and the seventies, as President and member of different Boards of Directors (Ontario Hydro, Canadian Tire), as Member of the Parliament and Special Advisor to Prime Ministers Joe Clark and Brian Mulroney, as Chairman of the National Capital Commission, etc. It also contains a scrapbook with photographs of her 75th and 80th birthday celebrations. The photographs are larger than the one in the second photos album entitled NCC (3 albums). The second photo album consists of personal and professional photographs. It contains photographs related largely to her activities as chairman of the National Capital Commission, but it also contains photographs linked to her political career and the reception of some awards. The order of the photographs have been kept. Some of them are identified.
