The National Capital Commission series contains records concerning Jean Pigott's activities as chairperson of the National Capital Commission (NCC) between 1984 and 1992. It consists of professional sationary and Christmas cards (blank), documents on her appointments and salaries, thematic files on different projects, like federal heritage buildings, ceremonial routes, relocation of the United States Embassy, the Festival of Lights, architecture, Winterlude, Chaudière/Victoria Island, Confederation Boulevard, MacLaren Cemetery, copies of the NCC internal magazine Sentiers/Pathways, Commemoration Study Phase II, Noon Day Gun, Gatineau Park Gateway, Brigadier Hamilton Gault Memorial Statue, the Peacekeeping Monument, Canada's 127th anniversary celebrations, report on a visit to Washington, notes for an interview, correspondence with the Prime Minister's Office, the visit of Nancy Reagan to Ottawa, state visit to Brazil with Jeanne Sauvé (Governor General of Canada) and different studies and reports regarding the national capital area. This series also contains notes on Canada written by Jean Pigott, some of her daily schedule, the first draft of her exit interview as chairman of the NCC, professional and personal correspondence between 1984 and 1992, retirement congratulation letters and 1 photos album of Jean Pigott's farewell party.
