Canadian Economy is enriched yearly by a wealth of furs - contribution of the little-known, poorly-mapped, sparsely-populated North. The northern Ontario settlement at Moose Factory Island in the mouth of Moose River on James Bay is typical of remote far-gathering centres. The district is patrolled by members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Here, Corporal Jim Davies, in charge of the local detachment, visits an Eskimo encampment on the Strutton Islands of James Bay. These Eskimos live in log-walled tents the year round.
