The series comprises the images created by a project to research and document early bookplates in books in archives and libraries in Quebec, undertaken by Frédéric Roussel-Beaulieu and François Melançon. The project emphasised pre-1900 editions, and includes photographs of bookplates, book covers, spines, title pages, and inscriptions. For some of the books, the series includes brief bibliographic data files. The libraries and archives covered included the Séminaire de Nicolet, Bibliothèque des Capucins, Bibliothèque du Séminaire de Québec, Couvent des Ursulines, Hôpital général, Université Laval, Diocèse de Québec, and Sainte Anne de Beaupré.
