The series consists mostly of Clarkson's professional files while president and publisher of McClelland and Stewart from 1987 to 1988. The series include professional and personal correspondence (incoming and outgoing, including letters of congratulation), memos, contracts and legal documents, and clippings. The series also includes copies of Leonard Cohen's manuscript of "Stranger Music: Selected Poems and Songs" and Farley Mowat's manuscript of "Bay of Spirits: A Love Story". The series includes several files related to Clarkson's imprint Adrienne Clarkson Books which was created September 9, 1988.
