Photocopy of a letter to Gordon Cunningham, Director of Information Postal Services, Canada Post Office, dated September 5, 1968, from Mr. Oleksiuk, M.D., has been found with the drawing ; He states: he sketched it on August 17, 1965, from a portrait drawn by Sargent which hangs in the John Hopkins Medical School or its Main Hospital ; the work shows 5 crests of the 5 schools of medicine Osler was associated with first as a student at the University of Toronto and McGill, and then in the departments of medicine at McGill, University of Pennsylvania, John Hopkins School of Medicine, and Oxford University ; the stamp was to be executed in black and white with part of the academic gown in red ; he is shown sitting at a desk with a globe behind him suggesting his great influence around the world.
