THE JANE SHOW is a half-hour Canadian comedy show starring Teresa Pavlinek as Jane Black, a thirty something would-be-novelist who foregoes her dream in order to secure a more conventional life - one that offers luxuries such as a forty-hour work week and a dental plan. Jane quickly discovers that the "normal" nine-to-five world is anything but normal as she starts dealing with problems such as dating, love, job stress and some eccentric coworkers. This is the pilot episode, which originally aired on Global in December of 2004. As the episode opens, we meet Jane who is on the subway, reading a motivational chapter about dating from The Delightful Girl's Etiquette Manual. In the office, she is caught by Iggy, reading a website called RushDate.com. When she learns about the concept of speed-dating, Jane decides to give it a try. After several oddball characters, Jane meets Clint, a very nice guy to whom she is attracted ... that is, until she discovers his creepy cowboy sex fantasy. <23mn 36s>

The second season aired in 2007 and the show was officially cancelled by Global on June 28, 2007.~2. Filmed on location in Toronto, Canada.~3.
