Sub-series consists of xeroxed copy of correspondence, faxes, memos, notes and reports. Schafer Bros. of Montreal seemingly brokered a multimillion dollar sale of skim milk powder to Mexico. According to their contention, the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) skewered the contract. Schafer Bros brought complaints about the CDC to the government. The material in this sub-series is largely the amassing of evidence on this matter, compiled by Michel Choquette and submitted to the government, preparatory to the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry into the operations of the CDC.
The significance of this material is self-explanatory. It addresses matters of promotion of sale of Canadian agricultural products, the operations of a major marketing board in the Canadian agri-marketing area, and charges of impropriety at the very highest of levels.
This bloc, though wholly xeroxed, has been retained for it's significance withing the Ministry of Agriculture, and for it's utility as a research resources.
