Shanly, Charles Dawson, 1811-1875 : C.D. Shanly (1811-1875), was educated at Trinity Coll. in Dublin. He was editor of Punch in Canada as well as a cartoonist and landscape painter. Shanly served as Assistant Secretary of Dept. of Public Works from 1842-57. He later moved to the United States of America.
