This could be a depiction of Waterford River Area or Bowring Park Area., Item consists of an unidentified landscape. The watercolour sketch is on folio 6, p.11. A birdge allows a horse drawn cart, some cattle, and people to cross over a river. There are some houses and rolling hills in the background. Two children seem to beckon a dog across the river, as a woman does some laundry in the foreground.

Biography/Administrative history:

Rennie, William F : William F. Rennie was an amateur artist who, in 1862, was listed as secretary of St. John's Gas Light Company. In 1871, he was listed as also being Usher of the Black Rod, Legislative Council, and lived on Rennie's Mill Road. He notably created sketches for the May 6, 1871 issue of the Canadian Illustrated News, to which he contributed 2 artworks, of Cape Spear, and of Conception Bay. He also executed an album of sketches for Lady Glover in 1882.
