JUST BURIED is a dark comedy about greed, sex and homicide. Oliver Whynacht, a scrawny nervous introvert, and his older brother Jackie, a laid-back Christian priest, arrive at a remote town for the funeral of their estranged father Rollie. There, they meet the town's eccentric inhabitants, including Luanne, their sexual stepmother, Roberta, a charming young mortician, and two local policemen, one of whom is Roberta's father, the other her boyfriend. Oliver's uneventful life changes when, to everyone's surprise, he inherits his father's business - a funeral home on the verge of bankruptcy - and decides to give it a shot despite the fact that he is "scared to death by death." Things get increasingly complicated for Oliver when one drunken night he gets into a car with Roberta and ends up hitting a jittery local hiker. Roberta cleverly disguises the fatality as a falling accident, providing Oliver with his first customer. Even though this initial victim's death is unintentional, Oliver and Roberta soon tumble down the slippery slope of advantageous homicide, which provides convenient solutions to the ever-present threat of discovery and incarceration, but also helps the family business. In the process, Oliver and Roberta fall in love...or, at least, that's what it seems. <1h 33mn 33s>
