Inscribed, in ink, top: Gaultheria procumbens. Mountain Tea. / This pretty little shrub, with its red berries, and finely / tinted leaves, grows amid turf on dry soils. It is used as a substitute for Tea, and as a morning Tonic after repletion.
Inscribed, in ink, bottom: Trillium pictum. Trinity flower. / It is found amid turf in woods. The peculiarity of / its form, Three leaves, three times told, caused the Chris=/= tianized Indians to esteem it highly, and to attach to it / the English name given above.

Inscribed, in ink, top: Agrimonia parviflora. Sweet agrimony. / It grows in rich dry soils, and is considered a Medicine / for coughs and expectoration of blood.
Inscribed, in ink, bottom: Epilobium spicatum. Fireweed. / This grows abundantly on burnt Woodland. It derives its / English name, from this following the effects of a fire in the / Woods. A light soil only, is favourable for its continuance.

Inscribed, in ink, top: Sarracena purpurea. Indian Cup. / This extraordinary Shaped and tinted flower, with its finely veined / and Shell-like leaves, grows in Swamops, and Moss bogs. The faci=/=lity with ["with" is inserted with an insertion indicator here] which it enables the Wanderer to convey water to the lips, has / occasioned its English name.
Inscribed, in ink, bottom: Iris virginia. Blue flag. / This splendid flower, the Fleur de lys of France, grows in moist grounds. / Its Chivalric application, affords a fine contrast to the lonely situation / where it blossoms, untended and unseen.
