Inscribed, in ink, top: Trientalis Europea. Star Flower. / This single, yet strongly marked floweret, grows in woods, in a dry / common soil.

Inscribed, in ink, bottom: Humanaria semperviriens. Evergreen fumitory. / This little grotesque floweret, whose bells hang so fantastically from / their slender stems, grows in burnt Wood land, and also flourishes / in Granite Quarries. Its fresh roots exhale nitrous gas, and its ash =/= es yield an uncommon proportion of Potash.
