This sub-sub-series contains correspondence, reference documents, promotional material, news releases and working papers concerning the 2001 Quebec City Summit of the Americas (i.e. annotated meeting agendas, various handwritten notes, etc.).

The 2001 Summit of the Americas marked the third meeting of the heads of state of the 34 countries of North, South and Central America regarding the creation of a Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). Held in Quebec City from April 20 to 22, 2001, the Summit was notable for the opposition it incited and for its extensive security arrangements (which are detailed in the documents of this sub-sub-series). The documents also address communication strategies and logistical issues associated with such an event, and the issue of federal-provincial relations in such a context.
