This chart of the St. Lawrence is an original Cook manuscript and incorporates the survey work he did in this area between 1759 and 1761 with Samuel Holland.
Acc. no. 1967-1761.

Notes from former database:
"Bason of Quebec; 41.5 x 49.0; 1:35,500. The three mountains on the South-shoar, as they appear in sailing through the traverse; 7.0 x 29.5. Thus appears the Pilgrim Islands, and the mainland behind them; when abreast of Tankard Island; 3.3 x 15.3, The two points of Orleans, as they appear in sailling through the Traverse; 4.5 x 10.8."
"This chart of the St. Lawrence is an original Cook manuscript and incorporates the survey work he did in this area between 1759 and 1761. Cook remarks about the tides and the availability of survey details particularly on the eastern area of the chart. For this area Cook states that he has relied upon the surveys of a Mr. Hammond and Mr. Veysey. Two other copies of this work are known to exist (i) an unsigned copy lacking topography and other details, in the hydrographic Department, British Admiralty (See note 1). (ii) a signed copy lent to the National Maritimes Museum by the British Admiralty in 1946 (see note 2)."
